Gayle is a founding member of the Richmond Progressive Alliance and was the first corporate-free councilmember and mayor.  She is leaving office to ‘organize California for the future,’ visiting communities throughout the state to share the story of Richmond’s transformation under her leadership.  She is helping others organize progressive alliances everywhere.
